Help Billo Walk Again

What our team found that day was heartbreaking beyond words. Billo had been abandoned and left lying in the same spot for so long that maggots had completely consumed a large part of his leg. Nearly two thousand flies swarmed around him where he lay helpless, unable to move, unable to escape.

By the time we reached him, the damage was catastrophic — his leg was almost eaten away, and every hour without treatment was pushing him closer to a slow, painful death. Our rescue team worked against the clock to get him out of there and into emergency care.

Since then, Billo has endured wound cleaning, infection control, and round-the-clock medical attention just to survive. He is now, slowly and painfully, fighting to heal — and if all goes well, to walk again.
